Save higham gp surgery

Since the news emerged that Highparks Medical Practice was proposing to close the Higham GP Surgery - the only GP surgery in the village of Higham, I have been working together with the local community in partnership to save Higham GP Surgery.

Together we have campaigned including via petition, meetings, survey, meetings with the GP practice and most recently a public meeting with the Chief Executive of the NHS in Kent held in Higham to have the voices of residents heard. I am grateful to the over 180 residents that came to the meeting to support the campaign.

I have also spoken to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care the Rt Hon. Wes Streeting MP about this campaign.

The campaign is ongoing and now that the practice have submitted their application to close and move their services outside Higham and outside the constituency.

The NHS Board meet in October to make a decision and I will continue to represent residents on this important issue.
